Designing Wedding Dresses for the Modern Muslimah

Conservative does not mean boring.

Modern Muslimah wedding dresses can look classy, feminine and very attractive. I personally like to play with textures by using a variety of materials such as silks, chiffons, crepes, laces, and satin, to create a silhouette that is flattering yet respectful of religious and cultural requirements.

After the dress is done, now comes the fun part – embellishments! Pearls, Swarovski crystals, laces, and beads are sewn on by hand (machines can never replace the finesse and TLC of a real seamstress) to add that glam factor and literally make the dress shine! If you really want to go all out, I highly recommend a pair of shoes in a matching fabric and decorative theme as your dress to complete the look.
